The Boutique Mariclod is the result of the passion and hard work of Marie-Claude Poulin and her mother Jeanne.
From a young age, Marie-Claude knew she would work in fashion as she watched her mother create and sew clothing.
In 1984, after earning her fashion degree from Collège Marie-Victorin, Marie-Claude worked at every stage of creating a clothing line, from design to production.
As a fashion designer for two major manufacturers on Chabanel Street in Montreal, she had the opportunity to travel the world to learn about the trends each season.
In 1994, she decided to start making clothes for her friends. Soon, her clientele grew rapidly.
In 1998-1999, she took advanced courses at the haute couture school of Angelina Di Bello. Marie-Claude recalls: "Mrs. Di Bello taught me adjustment techniques that many designers are unaware of. She had a significant influence on my professional life when it comes to tailoring, and it allowed me to stand out from other designers and boutiques."
In September 2004, she won the grand prize of Laval's Bal Des Fleurs.
In February 2005, she represented Quebec at the Battle of the Flowers in Nice, France, with her model Nancy, wearing the dress Les Fous de la Reine.
In August 2006, she fulfilled two dreams: her own and the one her mother Jeanne had always cherished! Raised in a family of entrepreneurs, she opened her first boutique, with a storefront.
In 2013, she received the Jury's Favorite Award from the Youth category, which advocates for people's well-being (feeling beautiful and comfortable in their own skin).
Still as passionate about her work, she purchased her building in November 2013 and set up the boutique in new premises in February 2014, still in St-Lin-Laurentides (her hometown).
In 2022, Maly, her daughter, completed her studies at Collège Marie-Victorin in fashion design, specializing in leather and fur, to continue her mother's career in this vast field. Since then, the two have been working together in the boutique to help it thrive, bringing a new energy of youth to it.
